Donkey Kong Jungle Beat levels

VS. Double Tusk is the boss level of the Chili Pepper Kingdom in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat and the Lychee Kingdom in New Play Control! Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. It is the sixteenth boss level in the original Nintendo GameCube version overall the fifteenth boss level in the enhanced New Play Control! port for the Wii overall. However, if all crests from the first three kingdoms each in the D and K Barrels are collected in the latter, then the level can be the eighth boss level overall. It takes place on a yard of a building in a desert. This level's objective is to defeat the Double Tusks.

Level layout[edit]

One of the Double Tusks' trunk is clogged by a Blood Pine in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
The pink camouflage Double Tusk has its trunk clogged with a Blood Pine.

In this level, the Double Tusks have 500 health points, each having 250. They attack by firing three cannonballs out of its trunk in different directions and trying to suck Donkey Kong into it. If Donkey Kong can stuns a Double Tusk by grabbing a Blood Pine and throwing it at its trunk, that Double Tusk will suck it in, explode inside its body, and release more Blood Pines while briefly exposing its heart, allowing Donkey Kong to damage it further by throwing Blood Pines at its heart, where they stick into until they explode.

Once Donkey Kong throws enough Blood Pines at one of the Double Tusks, that Double Tusk will break down, fall apart, and be defeated, and the second (and final) phase will begin. Here, the attacks differ between the final Double Tusk remaining; while the pink camouflage one attacks with both flaming and normal cannonballs, the brown one attacks by firing not only just the flaming cannonballs, but also two lasers, with the first one being fired normally like Grave Tusk and Torch Tusk from VS. Grave Tusk and VS. Torch Tusk respectively and the second one being fired in the opposite direction. If Donkey Kong throws enough Blood Pines at the final Tusk remaining, it will break down, fall apart, and be defeated, like the first one, and he will earn one to four crests in the original Donkey Kong Jungle Beat and one to three in the enhanced New Play Control! port for the Wii.
