VS. Fleet Roc is the boss level of the Lemon Kingdom in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat and the Strawberry Kingdom in New Play Control! Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. It is the seventh boss level in the original Nintendo GameCube version overall the fifth boss level in the enhanced New Play Control! port for the Wii overall. However, if all crests from the first three kingdoms in the D Barrel are collected in the latter, then the level can be the sixth boss level overall. It takes place on a large canyon during the day. This level's objective is to defeat Fleet Roc.
Level layout[edit]
In this level, Fleet Roc has 500 health points, and smoke is covered all over a massive and black egg that it is holding. It attacks by flapping its wings to both fire sharp feathers at Donkey Kong and create powerful winds to blow him away. To defeat it, Donkey Kong must use the Helper Monkeys to catapult himself up to rid the egg of the smoke and then damage the boss by headbutting it.
After losing at least two fifths of health, Fleet Roc will begin the second (and final) phase. In this phase, it will shoot Shadow Meteors from its mouth at Donkey Kong; however, only one Shadow Meteor is fired at a time. If Donkey Kong deals damage to shatter the egg, it will be defeated and he will earn one to four crests in the original Donkey Kong Jungle Beat and one to three in the enhanced New Play Control! port for the Wii.
