Special Power-up Kinoko
Peach passes a Super Mushroom to Mario
Appears in Super Mario Kodansha manga (Super Mario Bros. 4: Super Mario World 4) (1991)
Effect Turns into a muscular Super Mario
Variant of Super Mushroom

The Special Power-up Kinoko is a more powerful variant of the Super Mushroom that only appears in Super Mario Kodansha series in the Super Mario Bros. 4: Super Mario World 4 volume.

During the final battle, Mario is hit at the back by a Big Steelie. While Bowser prepares a finishing blow, he gets distracted by Luigi and the Yoshis' arrival. Taking advantage of that, Peach throws in Mario's mouth the Special Power-up Mushroom, turning him into a muscular version of Super Mario. He collects all the nearby Mechakoopas and throws them at Bowser, then fly towards the Koopa Clown Car, perforating it, causing it to blow up with Bowser, and saving Peach. As of the next panel, Mario has returned to his regular form.
