This article is about the arcade game. For the Nintendo Switch game of the same title, see Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

Template:Infobox Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 - Arcade Edition is a sports arcade game that was released in Japan on January 23, 2020 and later released overseas in January 2021. It is the arcade companion game to Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and the second arcade installment of the Mario & Sonic series. As with the Nintendo Switch version, the game takes place in Tokyo, Japan, home of the 2020 Summer Olympics, and features events from 2020, as well as 2D Events from the 1964 Summer Olympics, which were also held in Tokyo.

Characters

There are currently 20 playable characters in the game. Unlike its home console counterpart, each character's individual stats are now shown, rather than simply naming a specific advantage for each character.[1] Like the home console version, most of the playable roster wears different clothing depending on the event (the exceptions being Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Bowser, Bowser Jr. and Metal Sonic).
