Yosshīdamusu is the Yoshi sage, who long ago prophetized Bowser's conquest. He appears in Super Mario Bros. 4: Super Mario World 4. He is an old Yoshi with faded yellow skin, wearing a robe, with very bushy eyebrows and a goat's beard (very similar to Kroop's), and with a perpetual snotty nose. He is mostly recognized by his fellow Yoshis when he attaches the Yoshi's Wings on his head. Despite the wings, he moves on top of a cloud.

Informed by the rescued Yoshi's Eggs, Yoshi takes Mario and Luigi to Star World, where there is a hint to defeat Bowser. Yosshīdamusu approaches the brothers and gives them the Tokushi Gibusu, claiming that they will unlatch once they will be physically ready. After beating all Star World's stages, Mario and Luigi get to know the prophecy of Yosshīdamusu, which lists all Bowser's attack patterns. Mario is ready to fight him, but Yosshīdamusu makes him notice that the Gibusu did not unlatch yet, so he takes them to the Special Zone, where they pass the physical test and the Gibusu remove themselves from them. Now ready, Yosshīdamusu bids them good luck in defeating Bowser. Yosshīdamusu is then seen at the end as he witnesses Dinosaur Land liberation from the Star World.

In Super Mario Bros. 4: Super Mario World 6, he appears in one of the 4-koma, where he tries to charade his name to Mario and Peach, who have forgotten him.

In Super Mario World! Yoshi no Tamago, Yosshīdamusu enters Yossy's Pizza to give Mario advise on how to resurrect Yoshi, but stating to "put Bowser's raining minions in the center" (of Yoshi's Eggshells), then he leaves. Once again, Peach struggles to remember him and he has to pull his debut manga out to remind her.

In Super Mario Kart 2, he tries to explain to Peach that her treasure hunt to Gilgamesh Shotō will lead to dangers and she should give up, but instead he gets gagged and tied up to the mast of Peach's ship for the rest of the manga, while he sighs and prays for their safety.

In Super Mario Kart 3 he takes part to the Super Mario Cart Rally competition, the only one without a co-pilot. Like most of the minor participants, he is constantly inconvenienced by Bowser's tricks and follows Mario, even off the main track, thinking he knows better. He is always seen in last position.
