Hammer Katchū are enemies in Princess Peach: Showtime!, and are members of the Sour Bunch. They are first encountered in The Castle of Thorns, with a single one appearing in the middle of the Swordfighter Peach section, serving as a mini-boss. Helmet sours are bulky suits of armor that lack visible limbs, with a prominent purple crest plume, sporting a large purple hammer and a diamond-shaped shield. Instead of wearing the standard golden masquerade mask associated with the Sour Bunch, the helmet sour's eyes are cloaked in the darkness of its own helmet.

The Hammer Katchū in The Castle of Thorns fights Princess Peach in a one-on-one duel in a side-scrolling arena, stationed to the right. If Princess Peach attempts to attack the Hammer Katchū with standard attacks, it will block them with their shield. The Hammer Katchū will occasionally swing its hammer down onto the ground, creating a yellow damaging shockwave along the floor. If is pressed right before the shockwave reaches Peach, she will perform a leaping counter-attack and land on the Hammer Katchū's head, briefly stunning it and rendering it vulnerable to attack. The Hammer Katchū is defeated with two strikes from Swordfighter Peach's blade, and drops a single coin on death.
