Settle It in Court is a Duel minigame in Mario Party 8, as well as a single-player minigame in Test for the Best. Its name is a pun on the phrase "Let's settle it in court," which traditionally refers to a judicial court rather than a basketball one. This minigame is similar in concept to Three Throw from Mario Party 4.

Introduction[edit]

The player is on a basketball court, among a Shy Guy and many Goombas. The Shy Guy throws the player a basketball, and they shoot it. The game begins after that.

Gameplay[edit]

The Shy Guy throws basketballs from the side, and there is a meter at the top of the screen, with a basketball going from right to left across it, one at a time. When the ball icon reaches the yellow marker at the center, the player must swing Wii Remote forward to make the shot. Occasionally, a Goomba icon slides across. When it reaches the marker, the player must press the A Button or B Button button, and the Goomba gives the player an assist. The speed the icon goes across varies. Whoever has more baskets after 30 seconds is declared the winner.
