Mekabon
Mekabons were short robots that lived in the Muda Kingdom in Super Mario Land. When Mario came near, their heads would come off and act like a boomerang flying at him and coming back to reattach to the main body. Mario could defeat the Mekabons one of two ways; either he could jump on the head and body parts separately for 100 points each, or he could wait until the head reattached itself and then stomp on the entire Mekabon to be awarded with 400 points. Mekabons are one of the few creatures that are not affected by superballs. It is only found in World 2-2. Mekabons look like generic robots with a hemispherical shaped head.
Due to the rushed localization of Super Mario Land's manual, Mekabon's name was, like all other enemies' names, left untranslated from Japanese. A rough English translation of Mekabon's name would be "Mecha-Robot", or "Mechanical Robot"
