Aliens are a race of yellow humanoid extraterrestrial creatures in Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. A single specimen can be found in Yu Ef Oh Base.
The Alien is initially trapped in an escape pod in the sky; it can be freed by knocking the escape pod inside the Yu Ef Oh, which will destroy the escape pod and eject the Alien from below. Once freed, the Alien will periodically hop forwards. It can be picked up and carried around; if brought to a scanner in a room nearby the Billeau, it will open the door and allow entrance into its apparent residence. It can be swallowed but will be spat out by Yoshi due to its spacesuit's poor taste, and can be destroyed by ground-pounding onto it. Launching an egg at it or stomping on it will daze it temporarily.
According to Mr. E, Aliens came to the planet long ago to study the creatures on it, building a research facility on the Moon and exploring the planet below with Yu Ef Ohs. Blorps, Eleedees, and Cuttlefwooshes were created as byproducts of the Alien's research. Once they had learned the Moon was going to fall, they left the facility and returned home, mistakenly leaving some Yu Ef Ohs behind in the process. A single Alien professor stayed behind and created Mr. E to preserve as many creatures as he could as they would go extinct upon the Moon falling; the professor went missing after the Moon eventually fell. The drawing of the professor and the story relayed by Mr. E unlocked after clearing Hop or Drop imply the Alien in Yu Ef Oh Base to be the missing professor.
