"Yarn Yoshi Takes Shape!",[1] also known as "Yoshi's Woolly World"[2] or "Main Theme",[3][4] is a musical theme in Yoshi's Woolly World, where it plays in the levels Yarn Yoshi Takes Shape!, Fanciful Fluff and Feathers, Rollin' Down the River, and Snag-Stitch Mountain, as well as the aboveground portions of Sponge Cave Spelunking and the starting section of The Desert Pyramid Beckons!
The four opening notes of the theme's main melody mirror a distinctive sequence in "Yoshi's Song" from Yoshi's Story, where it instead marks the beginning of the third phrase. Both sequences are characterized by a leap up, a return, and a whole step up.

Due to releasing a year before Yoshi's Woolly World, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U marks the first appearance of "Yarn Yoshi Takes Shape!", where it can play in the Woolly World stage. Additionally, an arrangement of "Yarn Yoshi Takes Shape!" arranged by Taku Inoue can also play in the same stage. This arrangement also quotes "Sponge Cave Spelunking" before the loop. Both the original theme and the medley arrangement are titled "Yoshi's Woolly World" in the game's sound test.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, both the original and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U versions of "Yarn Yoshi Takes Shape!" can play in any Super Smash Bros.-series and Yoshi-series stage. They are both titled "Main Theme - Yoshi's Woolly World" in the game's sound test.
Yoshi's Woolly World / Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World[edit]
Yoshi's Woolly World marks the first appearance of "Yarn Yoshi Takes Shape!" in the Yoshi franchise.
The game also features two additional arrangements of the theme:
- A desert-themed arrangement of "Yarn Yoshi Takes Shape!" plays in the levels The Desert Pyramid Beckons! and Flying-Carpet Cruise. It is titled "The Desert Pyramid Beckons!" in the game's sound test.
- A snow-themed arrangement of "Yarn Yoshi Takes Shape!" plays in the aboveground portion of Fluffy Snow, Here We Go! and Snowy Mountain Lift Tour. It is titled "Fluffy Snow, Here We Go! (Overworld)" in American English and "Fluffy Snow, Here We Go! (Overground)" in British English.
"Yarn Yoshi Takes Shape!" and all of the aforementioned themes return in the Nintendo 3DS port, Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World, for the same purposes.

On the Nintendo 3DS, the original version of "Yarn Yoshi Takes Shape!" plays in the HOME Menu screen while the "Yoshi's Woolly World: Yoshis on Parade" theme is applied. It is titled "Main Theme".
