However, before pressing OK, the player has to draw additional lines between the wires in order to create a path for Wario to the gem at the bottom, under a time limit. The player can only draw lines between two neighboring wires. As the player advances through the main game, the minigame becomes more difficult, adding faulty lines between the wires which Wario has to avoid. The player loses if Wario falls onto a faulty line or if he takes the path that does not lead to the gem.

In-game text

Wario's Ladder is a minigame in Wario: Master of Disguise. There are five wires that lead to the bottom of the screen, connected by lines. Wario's icon starts at the top of one of them and starts sliding down the wires once the player presses OK at the top of the touchscreen, following any line that connects the wires as he descends.

After the minigame is encountered once in the main game, it also becomes playable anytime in the third tab of the extras menu. Here, the minigame has five difficulty levels, each requiring the player to reach the goal with a certain amount of time left in order to pass to the next level.
