Tatanga in Pagosu, Super Mario Land
Tatanga operating Pagosu
Tatanga in Pagosu, from Super Mario Land.

Pagosu[1] is the name of the spaceship piloted by Tatanga. It appears during the battle against Mario in Super Mario Land. It can fire large missiles that split into smaller missiles which Mario must dodge. Twenty-five hits from Mario's Sky Pop will bring it and Tatanga down.

According to the Kodansha manga, Tatanga's spaceship in Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins is a present from Wario to replace Pagosu.[2] The game's official website claims that this spaceship is more powerful,[3] although its attack capabilities significantly differ in-game. Encyclopedia Super Mario Bros. also states that Pagosu was replaced.[4]
