Template:Character-infobox Tamao is the strange eyeball-like guardian of Dragonzamasu in Super Mario Land for the Game Boy. Being the guardian of Dragonzamasu, it only appeared in Level 2-3, the Marine Pop level. It protects Dragonzamasu, mostly from the Marine Pop's torpedoes. It appears to be an eyeball trapped in a large bubble, and is completely indestructible, meaning Mario needs to simply dodge its attacks and aim for the huge Yurarin it protects instead. After Dragonzamasu's defeat, Tamao dissipates, never to be seen again.
It has also been rumored that Tamao was nothing more than a magical spell used by Dragonzamasu to protect himself.
