Hello, please avoid reordering the errors and trivia sections; this is inconsistent with how the rest of the episode articles are organised, and trivia sections always go at the bottom of the page since it's the section for any miscellaneous info that doesn't fit anywhere in the rest of the article. BJAODN move I disagree with

Hi! I noticed you moved the "How to Draw Nintendo Heroes and villains 2" entry from Other to Fanon because of Super-Yoshi's reasoning when deleting the page. I disagree with this decision, however—the entry is clearly referring to How to Draw Nintendo Greatest Heroes & Villains, just under a made-up name. Compare the characters mentioned in the entry with characters present in that book that are absent from How to Draw Nintendo Heroes and Villains, and you can tell they're the same (spelling errors aside). Whereas it's unclear if "Smart toad" is referring to any canonical Toad and Glowsquid's reasoning simply supported a move to Fanon, this is a completely different story. Names in other languages

Hey, good work on adding names in other languages for the cartoon episodes. I just wanted to let you know that the proposal to require citations for names in other languages passed last night, and I would appreciate it if you would be able to cite the source whenever you add a new name, as that saves time. However, I'm aware that you may not know how to cite episode names and the like, and I'm not entirely sure myself. I can go ask people about it if you want. Who are Geoffrey and Rosie?

I noticed in the navigation template for the Saturday Supercade DKJr. segments, you added two characters named Geoffrey and Rosie who don't have pages yet. Looking through the pages for the episodes, there was no mention of neither characters. Who are they? I'm not trying to remove them from the template, just wondering who they are. Geoffrey and Rosie are two other servants of Lucy Belle who are relatively minor characters in the episode. Geoffrey is a handyman while Rosie is a maid. Apikachu68 (talk) 20:31, November 30, 2024 (EST)

External Video Titles with Square Brackets and Vertical Bars

Some of your recent image uploads have errors in the aboutfile template because the videos you sourced use square brackets or vertical bars (i.e. "|") in their titles. In those cases, surround the title with the <nowiki> tag so that it doesn't conflict with the brackets and bars used for external links and templates. The Farthest Edge of Space Japanese name meaning

Hi, since you added the meaning of the Japanese name for The Farthest Edge of Space, does the name really just mean "In the Universe". I made a model in my sandbox showing what the list of implied characters would look like with all of the trims mentioned in your sandbox. Based on its appearance, it would reduce the size of the article by half. In my opinion, I feel that the offhand satellite characters, lore characters, pop culture references, and crossover characters should be removed, but I am unsure about the unseen authors. Spaced Out Theater

First, I greatly appreciate your efforts to make pages for the Club Mario stuff.

Something I (and at least another user in our discord server) am pondering though, is what to do the Photon/"Spaced-out Theater" segments. From my understanding, Photon was a pre-existing TV show that aired in the 80's that DiC cut ups and aired in Club Mario to pad out the episodes. As such, I question if it really makes sense to discuss those segments in details and have pages for their characters. There's a precedent: we don't have pages for the season 3 Captain N episodes that were paired with Super Mario World, we don't have articles on the shows that were aired as part of King Koop's Kool Kartoon and Donkey Kong Planet, etc.

On the other hand, the summaries don't make it clear how the segments were edited and inserted into the episodes, so I'm wondering if they were edited in a way more substantive than "Let's cut to this other TV show" or if the narrative was in any way altered from the original Photon episodes. I tried to look up Club Mario videos on youtube but didn't find the relevant bits. As the guy making these pages (and I assume, has seen the footage in its Club Mario context), what is your take? --Glowsquid (talk) 22:10, March 26, 2025 (EDT)

From what I know, Photon is in and of itself is an obscure television show as well, having never received a home media release due its copyrighted songs apparently being unable to be removed from the episodes according to its Wikipedia page. However, most segments have been archived on the Internet Archive, with the exception of "Not A Care In The World," which remains lost. Anyway, while the show is included with the Club Mario segments, similar to the examples you listed, the hosts are seen reacting to the show, implying some sort of connection to the segments. However, this is as far as a mention as it gets, and they react similarly to other clips of television shows and films while "satellite surfing," so it may be unnecessary to create articles for them. However, it appears to be given more emphasis than some of the other television show and film clips, as several clips from the show are used throughout Club Mario's run, as opposed to other television shows and films where it usually uses only one clip. However, we don't have pages for the other films and shows that were aired part of Club Mario as well.

As for if I could edit the plot synopsis to discussed how these segments were included to Club Mario, I'd probably trim down the descripton for the Photon previews, only mentioning the scenes featuring Princess Centauri as they are original to Club Mario; everything else, besides the replacement of the copyrighted songs with original music, is very much the same. (I know this because I watched some of the episodes from the original show as well.)

In my opinion, I'd probably would delete the pages focusing on individual characters and locations from Photon, as they are only related due them appearing in the clips, though I'd give a mention of the clips used in the segments; maybe I'll add a new parameter for the Photon preview featured in the episode, if there is one. I mean, you are correct. You can play this game if you just so happen to be in Japan and find the game in an arcade. But here's the issue with that, Super Mario Attack is an arcade game that did release and is widely regarded as lost media. Even if you can play it if you know an arcade that has one. The game has its own Lost Media Wiki article and this same logic applies with Mario Party Kurukuru Carnival, Būbū Mario, and other similar games even though they don't have articles. What counts as "lost media" varies from person to person. My personal definition is if the piece of media is not available online, then it counts as lost media. Not saying my personal definition is the correct one here, but removing the template for that game for a reason that can apply to a game with a Lost Media Wiki article might be a bit too far. Rykitu

User:Maw-Ray Master/Template:Unsuitable

I really like this template! I know it has been decided a long time ago that the wiki should not censor itself, but as someone who unfortunately witnessed someone on the Fandom Mario Wiki posting NSFW artwork of Max & Ruby at the age of 10, I feel like something should be put in-place to prevent children browsing the wiki to see stuff like Mario saying "sh*t". Here are a couple more pages that may need the template:

• Hell, for obvious reasons.
• Super Mario Land (manga), one of the pages shows Mario's p*nis and another page shows parodies of characters with questionable designs.
• George Caragonne, mentions of suicide.
• Cleopatra, same as the above.
• Erika Strobel, same as the above two.
• Super Mario Bros.: Peach-hime Kyūshutsu Dai Sakusen! and its gallery, movies merchandise contains a panel of Mario saying the S word and a panel of Luigi saying a mistranslation of "hell".
• Mario Quiz Cards, some of the cards mention Adolf Hitler and other infamous histrorical figures.
• List of implied people, same as above.

Hebrew

Hello. It seems that you are the one who has added most of the Hebrew translations of entities from the Super Mario Bros. Super Show. Thank you for your contributions, however the transliterations you have been using are not suitable as they are essentially gibberish. ("Arts Hqrh" is neither accurate nor readable) As I am somewhat familiar with Hebrew, I've gone and fixed all of the transliterations so that they are more accurate.

It's a tricky thing because as far as I'm aware, there's no standardized methodology of romanizing Hebrew, akin to Romaji or Yale Mandarin. This is likely because modern Hebrew omits all the Nikud (dots) on the letters that represent pronunciation differences and vowels. This is why whatever system you were using kept putting V's everywhere, because the Hebrew "vav" can represent a V sound but is much more commonly used to represent an O sound.

If you do anything further with Hebrew, I would actually suggest using Google Translate, as it has come a long way in understanding and Romanizing Hebrew, to the point that it's about 75% to 80% accurate. Here's what I suggest:

1. Put the Hebrew text into the Google Translate box, and it will print out a fairly accurate Romanization below.
2. Click on the speaker button and listen to the text-to-speech voice say the words. This is often even more accurate than the Romanization, as the TTS voice has been trained to recognize legitimate Hebrew words and know how to pronounce them. (Example: ארץ - The Romanization will say "Artz", but if you listen to the voice it will more correctly say "Eretz") Use this voice to refine and correct the Romanization text. This is important to tell if the word makes a "B" or a "V" sound, or if it makes a "S" or a "SH" sound.
3. Watch out for loanwords or fictional words. The Romanization will read Mario's Hebrew name as "Marav", but we all know how to write out Mario's name. Just keep in mind that Hebrew does not utilize the "th" sound and adjust loanwords accordingly.
4. Follow some formatting. Words that begin with "ha" are usually written as "HaAchim" because the "ha" is technically a different word that is attached to "Achim" (Brothers). The same goes for "Be" and sometimes "La". The word "and" is written in Hebrew by adding a "Ve" to the beginning of the next word ("Mario ve-Luigi"). Even though the "vav" character is attached to the second word, it's usually better for readability to just leave it separated (מריו והשעועית - Mario ve HaShuit). The ח is usually transcribed as "ch" and the כ/ך is transcribed as "kh", due to those sounds not existing in English.

howdy! as the creator of Template:TSMBSS home media, i wanted to ask: is there any particular reason the template is sorted into "North America" and "foreign" instead of just having a section for each language/region? i think the second one would be way easier to navigate and edit. i'd do it myself, but i'm not familiar enough with TSMBSS, and i wouldn't know where to sort the red links. — eviemaybe (talk / contributions) 09:35, September 20, 2025 (EDT)

The reason why the template was sorted into North America and foreign releases is because I thought that there would not be enough releases for each region to have their own section on the template. However, as the majority of the home media releases are for North America, it made sense to split the home media releases into North American and foreign releases, the foreign releases being for other regions besides North America. However, as you mentioned above, it would be easier to navigate if the releases were instead sorted by each region, and I agree; trying to find the release that I am looking for is difficult, especially for the foreign releases, as they are all grouped together with barely any specification as to what region it was released in.
