List of techniques

Thud! is one of the Assembly Dojo techniques in WarioWare: D.I.Y. It is the sixth technique in the green set, and the sixth overall in the game. The goal of this technique is to make the screen shake when an object lands.

Overview[edit]

At the start of Assembly, the player is presented with a stage with a solid white floor drawn on the background. Off-screen, centered above the stage, is an object labeled "Block" that resembles a white square with "1t" written on it. Immediately after starting the microgame, the block will travel downwards, and when it touches the area of the stage with the white floor, it will stop traveling and play an explosion sound.

Objects[edit]

Block
AI # Effect
1 When time 1-1 is hit:
Go SOUTH.
2 When BLOCK touches (lower area of screen)
Stop traveling.
Play EXPLOSION
?

The third action of in the second AI trigger of the Object "Block" may be modified by the player.

Solution[edit]

To complete the technique, Object "Block"'s third action in the second AI trigger must be set to "Stage Effect > Shake".

In-game text[edit]

  • Description"A one-ton block will come falling from the sky! Make the stage quake when the block hits the ground!"
  • Hint #1"Stage-shaking is not accomplished by changing movement or art..."
  • Hint #2"Movies provide a lot of flash and pop using special effects, right?"
  • Notes (Page 1)"There are four different types of Stage Effect you can use: Flash, Shake, Confetti, and Freeze. The best way to see how each of these effects work is just to try them out for yourself."
  • Notes (Page 2)"Freeze, however, is different than all the others in that, once it's used, all objects stop moving and don't respect to AI."
