Hit in Order is one of the Assembly Dojo techniques in WarioWare: D.I.Y. It is the seventh technique in the red set, and the thirty-first overall in the game. The goal of this technique is to make an object reflect through a path based on a distinct point.

Overview[edit]

At the start of Assembly, the player is presented with four objects. A large white circle labeled "Ball", and three black circles with white numbers within them, labeled "1", "2", and "3". By default, when starting the microgame, the ball will bounce around at random. If it touches one of the numbered circles in sequence, it will turn yellow and make the sound of a switch being thrown.

The first item of the first action of the Object "Ball" may be modified by the player.

Solution[edit]

To complete the technique, the first item of Object "Ball"'s first action may either be set to "Travel > Target > 1", and aim for the center of the object, or set to "Travel > Go straight > Current location > Specific direction > Northeast". The speed may be set to any setting.

In-game text[edit]

  • Description"The ball will reflect off the walls. Can you get it to pass over the numbers in order?!"
  • Hint #1"Everything should go smoothly if you just get over #1."
  • Hint #2"Try doubling up two kinds of travel within the same action grouping."
  • Notes (Page 1)"All of the roam travel types are random. The direction that a roaming object begins traveling in changes every time. But, there is a way to set a roaming object off in a specific direction."
  • Notes (Page 2)"You can do this by setting another travel action such as "Go straight" or "Target" together with the Roam action. The important thing, however, is the order in which you set these actions."
  • Notes (Page 3)"When performing two actions at once, such as playing a sound effect and changing object art, it usually doesn't matter which action is written first. But--on a more technical note--the AI is actually executed in order from top to bottom."
  • Notes (Page 4)"You typically won't have to worry about the order in which actions are performed. But if you have trouble getting an object to behave the way you want and you're confident your AI is correct, just remember that it might have something to do with the order in which your actions are executed."
