Don't Touch is one of the Assembly Dojo techniques in WarioWare: D.I.Y. It is the second technique in the yellow set, and the eighteenth overall in the game. The goal of this technique is to allow a microgame to be won if the player makes no inputs whatsoever.
Overview[edit]
At the start of Assembly, the player is presented with a single Object in the center of the stage, in the form of a red button with an exclamation point on it named "Button". By tapping the button, the microgame is immediately lost with a scream sound, and the stage freezing. In the Win Conditions, a single condition is present for when the Button Object's switch turns on.
Objects[edit]
- Button
| AI # | Effect |
|---|---|
| 1 | When BUTTON is tapped:
End game in a loss. Change art to PUSHED. Play SWITCH sound effect. Play SCREAM sound effect. Activate FREEZE effect. |
| 2 | ?
Turn BUTTON switch ON. |
The second trigger of the Object "Button" may be modified by the player.
Solution[edit]
To complete the technique, Object "Button"'s second trigger must be set to "Time > Exactly > End".
In-game text[edit]
- Description – "The game will be lost if the button is pressed, but how do we make it so the player wins by waiting until the very end...?"
- Hint #1 – "To satisfy a win condition, you need to trigger a switch."
- Hint #2 – "When will you know if nothing has happened the whole game?"
- Notes (Page 1) – "By default, games will automatically be counted as lost if the player does nothing for the duration of the game. So you have to create AI if you want to let the player win by doing nothing."
- Notes (Page 2) – "To be able to win, you have to set a win condition. And to satisfy the win condition, you have to turn a switch ON. You need to create an object whose switch turns ON if you do nothing."
- Notes (Page 3) – "So when will you know if the player has done nothing? At the end of the game, of course. All you have to do is make an object whose switch turns ON when time reaches the end. As long as the game is not lost before it reaches the end, it should count as a win."
