List of techniques

No Multi-Tapping! is one of the Assembly Dojo techniques in WarioWare: D.I.Y. It is the fourth technique in the yellow set, and the twentieth overall in the game. The goal of this technique is to make an object that cannot be tapped in rapid succession.

Overview[edit]

At the start of Assembly, the player is presented with a single Object in the center of the stage, in the form of a white button with an exclamation point on it named "Button".

Objects[edit]

Button
AI # Effect
1 When BUTTON is tapped &
While art is set to NORMAL:
?
Play CORRECT sound effect.
2 While art is set to PUSHED &
When art finishes playing:
Change art to NORMAL.

The first item of the first action of the Object "Button" may be modified by the player.

Solution[edit]

To complete the technique, the first item of Object "Button"'s first action must be set to "Art > Change > Pushed", and set the Animation Style to "Play once". The Animation Speed may be set to anything, so long as the Animation Style is configured properly.

In-game text[edit]

  • Description"OK, there's a button that doesn't pop back up when pressed. So it'd be weird if it could be pressed again, right?!"
  • Hint #1"Allow for a time interval during which the button can't be pressed."
  • Hint #2"Why does the art for the pressed button have four cels?"
  • Notes (Page 1)"Sometimes you may want to make an object that can't be tapped in a rapid-fire fashion. Fortunately, the AI is actually quite easy to make. All we need to do is take advantage of the time it takes for the art to finish playing (animating)."
  • Notes (Page 2)"The key to doing this is the art for when the button has been pressed. It turns out that there is a reason to create four copies of the same cel..."
  • Notes (Page 3)"As long as the same image is being displayed, the player will never know that the art is actually being animated. All you need to do, then, is wait for the art to finish playing, then switch to the art for the button in its nonpressed state."
  • Notes (Page 4)"By the way, if you want to change the animation characteristics of art that has finished playing--replaying or changing animation speed--you'll need to set it again using Change art."
