Count to Eight is one of the Assembly Dojo techniques in WarioWare: D.I.Y. It is the first technique in the red set, and the twenty-fifth overall in the game. The goal of this technique is to make an object disappear after eight taps.

Overview[edit]

At the start of Assembly, the player is presented with a single Object in the center of the screen labeled "8", resembling a white square with the letter "8". It has four visually identical pieces of art, labeled "ARTA", "ARTB", "ARTC", and "ARTD". By default, when the object tapped, it makes the sound of a switch being thrown for the first seven taps, before ceasing to respond.

Solution[edit]

To complete the technique, the first item of Object "8"'s fifth trigger must be set to "Switch > 8 > Switch is ON".

In-game text[edit]

  • Description"We've got an object that needs to be tapped eight times to disappear. Is it even possible to count up to eight taps?!"
  • Hint #1"A key concept here is: first or second time around?"
  • Hint #2"What is different between the eighth touch and fourth touch?"
  • Notes (Page 1)"There was another challenge to detect four taps, but this time we're dealing with eight. The only thing we did differently here is to add a switch to the mix."
  • Notes (Page 2)"If you look at AI 1 through 4, you'll notice that their structure is the same. They're all set so that when tapped, the art advances to the next art. (A→B→C→D→) This gets repeated until you reach ArtD."
  • Notes (Page 3)"ArtD is tapped on the fourth tap and the eighth tap. On the fourth tap it returns to ArtA, and on the eighth tap it disappears. We just need a switch to be able to discern between the fourth tap and the eighth tap."
  • Notes (Page 4)"Notice how in AI4 the object's switch is turned on when tapped. We can predict that the switch will be ON when tapped for the eighth time. So we know for sure that it's the eighth tap if it's tapped while the switch is ON."
