List of techniques

Beep Beep Beep Ding! is one of the Assembly Dojo techniques in WarioWare: D.I.Y. It is the third technique in the green set, and the third overall in the game. The goal of this technique is to synchronize an object's artwork with a sound effect.

Overview[edit]

At the start of Assembly, a single Object labeled "Block" is slightly above the center of the screen, with a replica of the top screen's time meter at the bottom of the background, pointing at the position for 3/4ths of the way in. The Block Object has two separate animations, one labeled "Normal" that is blank, and one labeled "☆" that features a five-pointed star. Music is present, in the form of three tones played evenly before a confirming "ding" tone.

The first trigger of the Object "Block" may be modified by the player.

Solution[edit]

To complete the technique, Object "Block"'s first trigger must be set to "Time > Exactly > 7-1"

In-game text[edit]

  • Description"You'll hear sounds playing as the game progresses. Make the ☆ appear when you hear the "ding!""
  • Hint #1"Doesn't that time-scale marker on the stage look familiar?."
  • Hint #2"The "ding" sound always comes at the same time."
  • Notes (Page 1)"Time has nothing to do with objects or switches but measures time passed since the start of the game and can be used as a basis for triggers. Since games get faster and faster as you play, we use time counters (1-1, 5-3, etc.) instead of a number of seconds or the like."
  • Notes (Page 2)"There are two ways to use time as a trigger. The first is to say "Here!" and determine an exact point. The second is to pick a range, where the timing is a point picked randomly from within that range. Since the point within that range is random, it will change every time the game is played.
  • Notes (Page 3)"The timing makers (1-1 to 8-4) are the same ones used for dividing sections of music. This is helpful if you want to match events and actions in your games with the music."
