Shoo the Fly Away is one of the Assembly Dojo techniques in WarioWare: D.I.Y. It is the sixth technique in the red set, and the thirtieth overall in the game. The goal of this technique is to make an object flee once another object's switch turns on.
Overview[edit]
At the start of Assembly, the player is presented with three Objects. At the bottom of the screen is a lightswitch labeled "Switch", and above it is a lit yellow light labeled "light". Off-screen, in the top right of the screen, is a black dot labeled "Bug". When starting the microgame, both the Light and Switch turn on their switches, and the bug flies towards the light, buzzing loudly while swarming erratically around it. Tapping the switch will turn its switch off and turn the light off, but the bug will not respond.
Objects[edit]

The first item of the second action of the Object "Light" may be modified by the player.
Solution[edit]
To complete the technique, the first item of Object "Light"'s second action must be set to "Switch > Turn switch OFF".
In-game text[edit]
- Description – "A little fly has flown near the light. Think of the relationships between objects, and make the fly go away!"
- Hint #1 – "What triggers the insect to fly away?"
- Hint #2 – "Be careful not to get your switches and object names confused with each other."
- Notes (Page 1) – "Relationships between objects are commonly defined by their respective switches. The more complex a game becomes, the harder it becomes to organize and manage those switches."
- Notes (Page 2) – "Solving this challenge requires that you understand the relationship that each object has with each of the other objects."
- Notes (Page 3) – "Figuring out your own AI can be hard enough, but reading and understanding the overall structure of AI written by other people can require some real detective work. But you solved this challenge, so you might just have a career in police work! Good job!"
