One-in-Three Chance is one of the Assembly Dojo techniques in WarioWare: D.I.Y. It is the third technique in the red set, and the twenty-seventh overall in the game. The goal of this technique is to make a piece of art appear randomly at the start of the microgame.
Overview[edit]
At the start of Assembly, the stage contains a single Object, in the form of a white square named "Square". By default, nothing will happen when the microgame is played.

The second item of the first trigger of the Object "Square" may be modified by the player.
Solution[edit]
To complete the technique, the second item of Object "Square"'s first trigger must be set to "Time > Randomly > From 1-1 to 1-3".

- Description – "Make the "!" appear one out of three times you play the game?! This is a high-level challenge--can you do it?!"
- Hint #1 – "Think about a trigger that has two different time conditions."
- Hint #2 – "What would set a time trigger to 1-1 one out of three times?"
- Notes (Page 1) – "By now you probably already know that there are two different types of Time trigger: Exactly and Randomly. Randomly means that some point within a range between two points becomes the trigger, NOT that the whole range is the trigger!"
- Notes (Page 2) – "If you create a trigger from 1-1 to 1-3, the MakerMatic will randomly choose one point--either 1-1, 1-2, or 1-3. So...we set the first trigger as follows: "{{color|red|When a time from 1-1 to 1-3 is hit""
- Notes (Page 3) – "So what happens if we add "When time 1-1 is hit" as another trigger to get this? When time 1-1 is hit & When a time from 1-1 to 1-3 is hit it means that the trigger will be activated for 1-1 & 1-1, but not for 1-1 & 1-2 or 1-1 & 1-3."
- Notes (Page 4) – "So unless the result is 1-1 & 1-1, no action will be triggered, because the trigger won't be activated. Since each of the three possible patterns has an equal chance of occurring, he action tied to this trigger has a one-in-three chance of happening!"
