List of techniques

Roll Down the Hill is one of the Assembly Dojo techniques in WarioWare: D.I.Y. It is the first technique in the blue set, and the ninth overall in the game. The goal of this technique is to make an object that properly rolls down a slope.

Overview[edit]

At the start of Assembly, the player is presented with a stage with a white slope downwards on the bottom left corner, and an Object labeled "Ball" at the top of it, partway off-screen. When starting the microgame, after a randomly-determined pause, the ball will go diagonally down right down the slope, with the sound of bowling pins falling down, before rolling off-screen.

Objects[edit]

Ball
AI # Effect
1 When a time from 1-1 to 2-1 is hit:
Go S-EAST.
Play BOWLING sound effect.
2 ?
Go EAST.
Play SUNK PUTT sound effect.

The second trigger of the Object "Ball" may be modified by the player.

Solution[edit]

To complete the technique, Object "Ball"'s second trigger must be set to "Contact > Touch > Location", and highlighting the area directly below the bottom of the stage.

In-game text[edit]

  • Description"When the game starts, a ball will roll down the slope. Can you make it so that the ball keeps rolling when it hits the ground?!"
  • Hint #1"The ball's direction has to change when it touches a specific location!"
  • Hint #2"The ground is just part of the background, not an object."
  • Notes (Page 1)"In addition to using Contact triggers with two objects, you can also detect when an object has contacted an area of the stage."
  • Notes (Page 2)"When setting the area with the stylus, you can hold down the L or R button to place it more precisely. You can use this technique in a variety of situations, so keep it in mind!"
