Skelesaurus Wrecks is the second level of Dino Desert in Yoshi's Crafted World. It is a desert level where Yoshi is mostly chased by the Skelesaurus.

The name of the level is a pun on the Tyrannosaurus rex and the Skelesaurus enemy.

Overview[edit]

Front side[edit]

The level begins with a staircase that takes Yoshi under a monument to rocky ground. The Skelesaurus assembles, and then begins to slowly chase Yoshi. Dirt blocks appear, along with Shy Guys. The Skelesaurus starts to walk faster, then smashes a set of rock blocks with a Smiley Flower inside. It stands for some time, then continues walking after Yoshi. Yoshi must continue moving across rock blocks and dirt blocks, with Shy Guys and Piranha Plants in his way.

Soon, the Skelesaurus swings its tail to knock down a column Yoshi is in front of. A few Spring Balls in the ground are found, with Item Balloons carrying hearts around them. More of the level contains dirt blocks that Yoshi must jump around with more enemies in the way.

Later in the level, the Skelesaurus roars, and moves faster. Yoshi has to traverse more Spring Balls over Piranha Plants to evade the Skelesaurus. Eventually, Yoshi reaches a rocky bridge over a pit. The Skelesaurus bumps its nose on a wall, breaking the bridge, and falls in the pit. The goal is found afterward.

Flip side[edit]

The background is revealed to be purple on the flip side as opposed to light blue on the front side. The Skelesaurus jumps out from the pit, breaking part of the bridge. It then proceeds to slowly chase Yoshi. The light-blue Poochy Pup is found hanging on the first wall Yoshi passes under. The black Poochy Pup sits on a tree close in the background after a wall. The pink Poochy Pup runs across a detail in the background near a Shy Guy Tower, at the second spot with Spring Balls. The Skelesaurus roars and chases faster at a spot with three sets of dirt blocks, just before the last Fly Guy appears. It then bumps its nose on a monument, and quickly falls apart.

Collectibles[edit]

Smiley Flowers[edit]

  • Smiley Flower 1: Enclosed in rock blocks with a Shy Guy Tower on it. The Skelesaurus smashes the blocks for Yoshi to grab the flower.
  • Smiley Flower 2: Shortly after the first one, a Winged Cloud is found in an alcove. Yoshi must hit it to make the Smiley Flower appear near him.
  • Smiley Flower 3: Next to a wall. Yoshi must grab it before the Skelesaurus swings its tail, knocking down the wall.
  • Smiley Flower 4: Surrounded by dirt blocks that Yoshi must Ground Pound.
  • Smiley Flower 5: A blue Time Cloud makes four posts appear that Yoshi must pound to earn the flower.
  • Smiley Flower 6: Just before the end, Yoshi must get on top of a row of dirt blocks and jump over a Fly Guy to reach it.

Three more Smiley Flowers are awarded for collecting at least 100 coins in the level, completing the level with 20 hearts, and collecting all 20 Red Coins.

Crafts[edit]

Found on the flip side:
