Eggman's robots[1][2] (usually known in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise as Badniks,[3][4] sometimes lowercase)[5] are the various robotic minions Dr. Eggman uses as part of his Eggman Army,[6] often powered by animals or other living things used as batteries within them, in his goal to establish the Eggman Empire. They are equivalent in role to the Koopa Troop in the Super Mario franchise, though in several games individual models are less recurring, unlike the fairly consistent membership of the Koopa Troop. They cross over with the Super Mario franchise in the Mario & Sonic series, where they are seen allying with the Koopa Troop.
