Cookatiel's Sizzling Sprint is the fourth course of the Bonus Episode in the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS versions of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. It is a food-themed level inspired by the Luncheon Kingdom from Super Mario Odyssey.

Layout[edit]

The level begins on a flat plateau surrounded with vegatables, meant to resemble the setting of Peronza Plaza. After that, a sliding slope leads Captain Toad into a series of Dash Panels, among which he finds three Double Cherries (only one in the 3DS version) which allow him to access multiple branching paths on the rest of the level. As the Captain Toads continue, the path behind them crumbles into the pink lava. The level features many points with P Switches that require multiple Toads, usually leading to a Super Gem or coin piles. Eventually, Cookatiel will begin showering the level with Durians that will instantly destroy any Captain Toad clone, or if there is only one instance of Captain Toad, will simply damage him traditionally.

After the long road of Dash Panels and Durians, Captain Toad and however many clones are with him will enter a Clear Pipe that goes through a green mountain, resembling the order of Story Moons in Super Mario Odyssey, with this being a reference to the Climb Up the Cascading Magma mission.

After that, the Toads are shot onto the giant pot of Stupendous Stew (in reference to the final Multi Moon in the Luncheon Kingdom), leading to the level's Power Moon. There are several invisible Coin groups in this final area.

Super Gems[edit]

Three Super Gems can be found throughout the level.

  • Super Gem 1: Appears upon pressing the first P Switch.
  • Super Gem 2: Appears upon pressing all three P Switches (two P Switches in the 3DS version) on the slope mid-way through the level.
  • Super Gem 3: Appears upon pressing the last two P Switches in the level.
