Bloober?

I've heard this alternate name before, but where did it originate? Monty Mole 11:38, 3 September 2006 (EDT)

Where did you hear it? Para Yoshi Wahoo! 11:40, 3 September 2006 (EDT)
If you can find a source, you can add a sentence in the article. Otherwise, leave "Bloober" out. Wayoshi ( T·C·@ ) 11:44, 3 September 2006 (EDT)
*Retrived from Wikipedia* Bloober- The name of a Blooper in SMB. It can only be killed by fireballs when it is underwater, but above water it can be stepped on easily. Para Yoshi Wahoo! 11:51, 3 September 2006 (EDT)
I see. I've never gotten that far in SMB, so I guess I can't say much. I knew Bloober existed somewhere, though. Monty Mole 11:53, 3 September 2006 (EDT)
When Paper Mario was made, the name was changed to Blooper. All previous instances refered to this species as Bloober. -- Son of Suns

Conformed, It was first refered to as Blooper in Papaer Mario and has kept the name since, Bloober was mainly used in Super Mario Brothers Deluxe.

"Bloober" was how it appeared in the instruction manual to SMB and, IIRC, certain other sources (perhaps including games). "Blooper" predates Paper Mario by a number of years -- it's attested as far back as a 1989 Diamond Sticker Activity Album. It also appeared with a bit more official cachet in the 1993 SMAS Player's Guide, and probably many other sources I do not have. --Toadstool Forever 01:01, 23 March 2007 (EDT)
It was still called Bloober in SMB3's instruction manual. The official strategy guide which came out the same year (1990) called them Bloopers.--Platform 22:29, 21 September 2011 (EDT)

Correction

The article said that Blooper was the first mandatory boss in Paper Mario 2. Actually, Lord Crump served that role. Just wanted to say that I corrected that. Waluigi Freak 99 20:30, 10 September 2006 (EDT)

Yoshi's Island

In Yoshis Island there are an octopus soecies, that looks similar to Bloopers. Are they Bloopers, or a new enemy? - User: Ultimatetoad

According to the Island Museum, they are. Wa Yoshihead.png TC@Y 15:16, 22 January 2007 (EST)

Expand

I think this article needs major expansion since its first appearance on super mario bros.F gLarrynana.gif

WRONG NAME?

aren't the "land bloopers" from SUPER MARIO SUNSHINE called Goopers? Lu-igi board 18:43, 27 October 2008 (EDT)

No, they are still called Bloopers. Unless you meant the boss Gooper Blooper. Knife (talk) 19:01, 27 October 2008 (EDT)

Bloober/Blooper

I know that thoses ennemies were called Bloobers and that they are now called Bloopers. But in the "Super Mario Bros." section (and also in others sections) we call them Bloopers while they were currently know as Bloobers. And if you tell me that because the current name is Blooper we must call them Bloopers, why in the "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!" section (and also in others sections) we call them Bloobers ?. We should either call them Blooper everywhere, or call them by the name they were know as by the time. (I don't know if you understood me)
Banon (talk · edits)

I think that it should first acknowledge the early name in the Super Mario Bros. section and the next few sections where they are known as Bloobers, and then call them Bloopers thereafter. As an example, Princess Peach was given the early name "Princess Toadstool" in the original Super Mario Bros., and the section informs the reader of this. It then calls her "Toadstool" in the rest of the section, and the next few sections until Super Mario 64, where she is known as "Peach". I think the Blooper article can take a similar approach.

Yes, that would be consistent.

Surfing Blooper

Proposal.svg This talk page section contains an unresolved talk page proposal. Please try to help and resolve the issue by voting or leaving a comment.

Current time: Friday, June 21, 2024, 03:45 GMT

In Super Mario Sunshine in Ricco Harbor to appear three colored Bloopers who Mario can ride for ottenure two Shine Sprites. Since they are the important character I would say to create a page dedicated to them. P.S. These Bloopers not have an official name so I think if you decide to create the page should add the Template:Conjecture.

Support

  1. Sonic98 (talk) Per proposal.

Oppose

  1. King Pikante (talk) I think that it's crazy to have an article about two different colored Bloopers. Why? We don't even know their names and even though they maybe are important to get a Shine Sprite, there are also some other things that are important to get a star and they don't have an article. We just don't have enough info to make an article about them. If it would be created, there would be no real purpose for the article. If the same Bloopers maybe appeared in another game or stage, I would support this proposal, but they don't, so it is useless.
