- Bowser is the only boss to appear in every New Super Mario Bros. game.
Super Mario Bros. 3
- Bowser is the only boss to use his own theme for his boss battle, specifically "King of the Koopas".
Super Mario World
- Bowser is the only boss to use his own theme for his boss battle, "Bowser BGM".
Super Mario 64 / Super Mario 64 DS
- Mario grabbing Bowser's tail and swinging him around before throwing him is similar to King Kong performing that act on Godzilla in the 1962 film King Kong vs. Godzilla.
Super Mario Sunshine
- This is the only game in the Super Mario series where Bowser has extensive voice dialogue.
Super Mario 3D World / Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury
- After Bowser gets defeated in Bowser's Highway Showdown and Bowser's Lava Lake Keep, the bridge beneath him collapses, much like the fake Bowsers and Bowser himself from Super Mario Bros.
Hotel Mario
- Bowser has an unused speaking line in this game.

Yoshi's New Island
- Bowser is the only boss who can only be battled via a specific method, as he is only fought after the player completes every level without using the Flutter Wings.
Yoshi's Woolly World / Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World
- Although Bowser does not appear, the player can scan any Bowser amiibo to unlock the Bowser Yoshi amiibo pattern.
Yoshi's Crafted World
- Although Bowser does not appear, the player can scan any Bowser amiibo to unlock the Bowser costume.
Yoshi and the Mysterious Book
- This is the first game in the Yoshi series since Yoshi's New Island where Bowser appears.

The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!
- "Butch Mario & The Luigi Kid" is the first episode where King Koopa uses Wart's minions, specifically Mouser.
- It is also the first episode where King Koopa wears a costume and uses an alias.
- Likewise, "Star Koopa" is the final episode where King Koopa uses Wart's minions, specifically Mouser.
- "Love 'Em and Leave 'Em" is the only episode of the show where King Koopa does not make an appearance, making Mario, Luigi, and Princess Toadstool the only characters to appear in every episode of the show.
- In "Mario Meets Koop-zilla", Mario grabbing Koop-zilla's tail and swinging him around before throwing him is similar to King Kong performing that act on Godzilla in the 1962 film King Kong vs. Godzilla.

- In "Sneaky Lying Cheating Giant Ninja Koopas", after the Bully, Big Mouth, Kooky, and Cheatsy capture Prince Hugo and King Koopa turns him into a poodle, the Koopalings walk in circles around Hugo while singing "For He's a Jolly Bad Koopa", a reference to the popular congratulations song "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow".
- "Misadventures in Babysitting" and "Life's Ruff" are the only episodes where King Koopa does not appear, making Luigi the only character to appear in every episode of The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3, although Koopa is mentioned in the latter episode.
Super Mario World television series
- In "King Scoopa Koopa", when ordering one of his dinosaur workers to put some Special Koopa Sauce in each of the Egg Scoopa Koopas, King Koopa says, "A little scoop'll do ya!" This references the line from the Brylcreem commercials, "A little dollop'll do ya."
- Koopa briefly mentions that he is a capitalist in "King Scoopa Koopa". This reference is not present in the French, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, or Latin American Spanish dubs.
Nintendo Switch How-To Series
- In How to Create a Nintendo Account, which is an instructional video posted by Nintendo for creating a Nintendo Account, Bowser is used as an example for an account's personal information, with his birthday listed for February 5, 1989.[3]
