This is a list of trivia for Bowser.

Super Mario franchise

Super Mario series

• Bowser is the only boss to appear in every New Super Mario Bros. game.

Super Mario Bros. 3

• Bowser is the only boss to use his own theme for his boss battle, specifically "King of the Koopas".

Super Mario World

• Bowser is the only boss to use his own theme for his boss battle, specifically "Bowser BGM".

Super Mario 64 / Super Mario 64 DS

• Mario grabbing Bowser's tail and swinging him around before throwing him is similar to King Kong performing that act on Godzilla in the 1962 film King Kong vs. Godzilla.
  • In Super Mario 64 DS only, this distinction is also shared with Luigi and Wario.
• The battle with Bowser in Bowser in the Sky is the only one of his battles to have its own music theme, as all other battles with Bowser have "Bowser's Theme" in Bowser in the Dark World and Bowser in the Fire Sea.

Super Mario Sunshine

• This is the only game in the Super Mario series where Bowser has extensive voice dialogue.

Super Mario Galaxy

• Bowser's Galaxy Reactor is the only boss galaxy where both Bowser and Bowser Jr. appear; however, only the former can be fought.
• In Bowser's Galaxy Reactor, while easy to miss without the player taking a close look, the spines on Bowser's shell quickly retract before he engages in his rolling-based attack, presumably to allow him to move around more smoothly. (Even so, attempting to jump on him in these instances will still harm the player.) Such an aesthetic trait in his attack is unique to this game, having never appeared before and having yet to reappear.

New Super Mario Bros. U / New Super Luigi U / New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe

• In the New Super Mario Bros. U level The Final Battle, one second elapses from the timer even after the player lands the final hit on Bowser, meaning they will still get a "Time's Up!" if they have one second on the timer upon defeating Bowser.

Super Mario 3D World / Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury

• Bowser capturing the Sprixie Princesses in a jar is a reference to the concept of catching fairies in a jar stems from Victorian-era folklore and illustration.
• After Bowser gets defeated in Bowser's Highway Showdown and Bowser's Lava Lake Keep, the bridge beneath him collapses, much like the fake Bowsers and Bowser himself from Super Mario Bros.

Mario Kart series

Super Mario Kart

• If controlled by a computer, Bowser can toss fireballs onto the track.
• For his awards ceremony victory animation, Bowser is seen drinking a bottle of champagne, which international releases changed to only show him waving the bottle above his head.

Mario Kart Arcade GP

• If the player is playing as Bowser for this challenge, they instead face Mecha-Bowser. This also applies to Mario Kart Arcade GP 2.

Mario Kart Arcade GP 2

• If the player is playing as Bowser for this challenge, they instead face Mecha-Bowser. This also applies to the first Mario Kart Arcade GP game.

Mario Kart 8 / Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

• Bowser runs an oil company called Bowser Oil, which appears as a sponsor in these games
• Bowser has a racing team called Lord Bowser.

Mario Kart Arcade GP VR

• This is the only game in the Mario Kart series where Bowser appears as a non-playable character.
• Bowser and Wario are the only characters in this game to not be playable, instead being CPU drivers.

Mario Kart World

• Bowser is the only character in this game to not share his stats with any other racer.

Hotel Mario

• Bowser has an unused speaking line in this game.

Hotel Mario - "Dear pesky plumbers, The Koopalings and I have taken over the Mushroom Kingdom and turned it into our own Klub Koopa Resort. The princess is now our permanent guest at one of the eight Koopa hotels. Mwa-hahahahahahahahahaha!" - Bowser's unused line.

Yoshi's New Island

• Bowser is the only boss who can only be battled via a specific method, as he is only fought after the player completes every level without using the Flutter Wings.

The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!

• This is the only one of DIC Entertainment's Super Mario cartoons where King Koopa uses Wart's minions, specifically Mouser and Tryclyde.
  • In this case, "Butch Mario & The Luigi Kid" and "Star Koopa" are the first and final episodes with this distinction, respectively.
• "Butch Mario & The Luigi Kid" is the first episode where King Koopa wears a costume and uses an alias.
• "Love 'Em and Leave 'Em" is the only episode of the show where King Koopa does not make an appearance, making Mario, Luigi, and Princess Toadstool the only characters to appear in every episode of the show.
• "Jungle Fever" and "Mario of the Apes" are the only two episodes where King Koopa wears a costume without using an alter ego.

The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3

• In "Sneaky Lying Cheating Giant Ninja Koopas", after the Bully, Big Mouth, Kooky, and Cheatsy capture Prince Hugo and King Koopa turns him into a poodle, the four walk in circles around Hugo while singing a song for Koopa known as "For He's a Jolly Bad Koopa", a reference to the popular congratulations song "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow".
• King Koopa is referred to as "Bowser Koopa" in various episodes:
  • Mario refers to him as such in "Sneaky Lying Cheating Giant Ninja Koopas" when he taunts him for turning Prince Hugo for turning him into a poodle.
  • He is referred to as such twice in "Princess Toadstool for President".
    • The first instance is when Luigi remarks about King Koopa's reaction to the Nice Guy Potion being gone.
    • The second and final instance is when Princess Toadstool calls out King Koopa for using a Nice Guy Potion to win the election.
  • Mario refers to him as such in "Reign Storm" when he asks the Robot Princess why she is so nice to him.
  • In "Crimes R Us", he calls himself "Bowser Koopa" when he introduces himself to Crime Wave Clyde.
• In "Never Koop a Koopa", when Cheatsy puts on King Koopa's crown, his hair is divided in locks.
• "Dadzilla" has Kootie Pie and Big Mouth state that King Koopa is not their real father, long before Shigeru Miyamoto stated the current story that the Koopalings are not Bowser's children.
• In "A Toadally Magical Adventure", when King Koopa notices Fire Mario shooting fireballs at him and the Koopalings, he reacts by shouting, "Great balls of fire!" That line is a reference to the Jerry Lee Lewis song of the same name.
• "Misadventures in Babysitting" and "Life's Ruff" are the only episodes where King Koopa does not appear, making Luigi the only character to appear in every episode of The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3, although Koopa is mentioned in the latter episode.
• In "7 Continents for 7 Koopas", when allotting North America to Hip, King Koopa tells him to "be rotten from sea to shining sea", an American idiom referring to the vastness of the United States.
• In the original NBC airings for "7 Continents for 7 Koopas", King Koopa narrates the teaser promo saying, "I've got seven Koopa kids, and the Real World's got seven continents! One for each! Seems like a perfect way to divide and conquer!"
• One notable piece of additional dialogue for "Super Koopa" features Princess Toadstool originally responding to King Koopa's flight suggestion with "I'd rather take the bus!" Despite being removed from the final version of the script, King Koopa still responds as if she said the line in the final episode.

Super Mario World television series

• King Koopa narrates the preview for "Send in the Clown" by saying, "Hey kids, the circus is in town! Come one, come all, to King Koopa's big top dinosaur show! We've even got a Flying Clown Head! And if you don't know what that is, you'd better tune in!"
• The final battle in "Send in the Clown" is very similar to the one in Super Mario World. As Koopa throws Mechakoopas at Mario, he throws them back, and Koopa attempts to crush him with the Flying Clown Head and drops a Big Steely on him. However, when the Flying Clown Head hits Mario, his cape does not disappear.
• In "King Scoopa Koopa", when ordering one of his dinosaur workers to put some Special Koopa Sauce in each of the Egg Scoopa Koopas, King Koopa says, "A little scoop'll do ya!" This references the line from the Brylcreem commercials, "A little dollop'll do ya."
• Koopa briefly mentions that he is a capitalist in "King Scoopa Koopa". This reference is not present in the French, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, or Latin American Spanish dubs.
• In "Rock TV", the family King Koopa spies on in his flashback strongly resembles Norman's family from The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 episode "Mush-Rumors", except Missy is missing.
• King Koopa implies in "A Little Learning" that he is illiterate, though his game counterpart appears capable of writing a letter in Super Mario Bros. 3.

• In How to Create a Nintendo Account, which is an instructional video posted by Nintendo for creating a Nintendo Account, Bowser is used as an example for an account's personal information, with his birthday listed for February 5, 1989.
