The "Campfire Medley" is a playable medley of three folk songs in Donkey Konga. It is exclusive to the North American version of the game.
The first song is "I've Been Working on the Railroad," an American folk song. It is played in a relaxed style featuring a high guitar and a group of vocalists led by a male singer.
Immediately as the second stanza of "I've Been Working on the Railroad" ends, "She'll Be Coming 'Round the Mountain," a children's folk song with spiritual roots, begins. It is at a faster tempo than "I've Been Working on the Railroad," and is given livelier instrumentation with prominent drums and a female lead singer. "She'll Be Coming 'Round the Mountain" is played for three verses with instrumental breaks in between.
The final song is "Yankee Doodle," a nursery rhyme heavily associated with the United States of America. Its arrangement in Donkey Konga features a male lead singer, a synth riff in various parts of the song, a military drum beat during the verses, and a lively bassline during the choruses. Two verses and three choruses of "Yankee Doodle" are played before it, and the Campfire Medley as a whole, ends.
Lyrics[edit]
I've been working on the railroad
All the live-long day
I've been working on the railroad
Just to pass the time away
Can't you hear the whistle blowing
Rise up so early in the morn
Can't you hear the captain shouting
"Dinah, blow your horn!"(Hey, here she comes!)
She'll be coming 'round the mountain when she comes
She'll be coming 'round the mountain when she comes
She'll be coming 'round the mountain
She'll be coming 'round the mountain
She'll be coming 'round the mountain when she comes(Hey, what do you guys think she'll be doing, huh? You have any idea?)
She'll be driving six white horses when she comes
She'll be driving six white horses when she comes
She'll be driving six white horses
She'll be driving six white horses
She'll be driving six white horses when she comesAnd we'll all go out to meet her when she comes
Yes, we'll all go out to meet her when she comes
Yes, we'll all go out to meet her
Yeah, we'll all go out to meet her
Yes, we'll all go out to meet her when she comesYankee Doodle went to town
Riding on a pony
Stuck a feather in his hat
And called it macaroniYankee Doodle keep it up
Yankee Doodle dandy
Mind the music and the step
And with the girls be handyFather and I went down to camp
Along with Captain Gooding
There were all the men and boys
As thick as hasty puddingYankee Doodle keep it up
Yankee Doodle dandy
Mind the music and the step
And with the girls be handyYankee Doodle keep it up
Yankee Doodle dandy
Mind the music and the step
And with the girls be handy
