{{italic title|List of ''Mario Kart Wii'' tournaments}}
This is a complete list of '''''[[Mario Kart Wii]]'' tournaments''' ('''competitions''' in European languages) that were held on the Mario Kart Channel. Two tournaments were held each month, starting in May of 2008. The first tournament of each month lasted from the 1st to the 10th of that month, and the second lasted from the 15th until the 25th. Tournaments were sent through the internet to the Wii console via WiiConnect24. There are a total of 49 unique tournaments. From the second tournament of August 2010 onward, all tournaments were repeats of previous ones. Even though WiiConnect24 services were discontinued in June 27, 2013, the tournaments were still available. The tournaments could also not be played on a [[Wii U]] at all due to the system not being compatible with WiiConnect24.

Latest revision as of 10:01, March 12, 2024

This is a complete list of Mario Kart Wii tournaments (competitions in European languages) that were held on the Mario Kart Channel. Two tournaments were held each month, starting in May of 2008. The first tournament of each month lasted from the 1st to the 10th of that month, and the second lasted from the 15th until the 25th. Tournaments were sent through the internet to the Wii console via WiiConnect24. There would be a total of 47 unique tournaments. From the second tournament of August 2010 onward, all tournaments were repeats of previous ones. Even though WiiConnect24 services were discontinued in June 27, 2013, the tournaments were still available. The tournaments could also not be played on a Wii U at all due to the system not being compatible with WiiConnect24.

With the discontinuation of Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection on May 20, 2014, the tournament service has concluded as of the end of the May 2014 tournament.

Types of tournaments[edit]

  • VS. Race: A standard VS race; however, race courses had various alterations made to them.
  • Time Trial: A standard Time Trial; however, race courses had various alterations made to them.
  • Numbered Gates: The player had to drive through ordered gates as fast as possible.
  • Coin Collecting: The player had to collect the coins on the stage as fast as possible.
  • Boss Battle: The player had to fight or race against a special boss.
