River Raiders is a 1-vs-3 coin-collecting minigame in Mario Party 3 and Mario Party Superstars. its title references the Atari 2600 game River Raid.
OverviewEdit
The solo player pilots a Red Shell-shaped boat along a river, and each of the team players ride behind on Green Shells tied by ropes. All four players must try to collect coins and coin bags which float downstream along the way, passing by the solo player first. If any player hits a log, they get stunned briefly, unable to collect any coins.
At the end of the minigame, whoever collects the most coins, between the solo player's and the total sum of the team players' coins, is declared the winner, and every player keeps the number of coins collected. In the ending, any player who has at least one coin does their winning animation, while the solo player continues steering, but if either side has not collected anything, they do their losing animation.
