Mario and Luigi encountering Bowletta at the end of Bowser's Castle.

Bowletta is the fusion between Bowser's body and the spirit of Cackletta, the evil bean witch. Bowletta appears only in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, where Mario and Luigi team up with Bowser to go to the Beanbean Kingdom. She is the main antagonist for the second part of the game. After the Mario Bros. beat Cackletta at Woohoo Hooniversity, Fawful, her assistant, sucks up her soul in his headgear to save her life. After days of searching for a body weakened enough for Cackletta to possess, they find King Bowser, unconscious after having been separated from the Mario Bros. by Popple, the shadow thief. Desperate for anyone to control now, Fawful and Cackletta agree to possess Bowser, and Bowletta is born.

Once in her new body, she discovers that Princess Peach and Queen Bean had anticipated her plan to steal the Beanstar and tricked her. Bowletta steals the Koopa Clown Car, the Koopa Cruiser, and finds the Mario Bros. in the Little Fungitown immigrant community with Peach. Since Mario is sick from Bean Fever, and Luigi is out trying to cure him, Bowletta is able to kidnap Peach easily. Upon meeting the shocked Luigi during her escape, she tells him and Mario to fix the broken Beanstar and bring it to Joke's End.

The Mario Bros. once again try to trick Bowletta. They bring a fake Beanstar to Joke's End, but not even Fawful falls for this trick, and he forces them to give up the real thing. In a last, desperate attempt, Mario makes Luigi dress up as Princess Peach, and they manage to trick both villains long enough to save Peach.

Infuriated by this new trick, she flies to the Mushroom Kingdom and hijacks Bowser's floating castle. The Mario Bros. now must face Bowletta outright and engage her in battle, where she has 500 HP. This time, Bowletta tricks them by feigning defeat and she swallows them both whole after a Time Bob-omb knocks the Bros. out. They end up inside her stomach, where the two brothers finally fight with Cackletta's Soul.

Powers and Abilities

Bowletta's most powerful attack.

Bowletta is a dangerous enemy. She has all the powers of Bowser, including some dark magic of her own- such as the ability to turn into Dark Bowletta and create huge star showers. She also has the ability to breathe fire like Bowser, can create fire-like enemies called Flarets from her breath, and is also larger than the original Bowser. Her most dangerous attack is to create blocks over the Bros. heads, which prevent them from jumping, while Bowletta charges up fire energy for a massive fire blast. Dodging this attack involves jumping continuously to get rid of the blocks, and jumping again to avoid the attack itself. There is a number on the blocks that indicate how many times the Bros. have to jump to get rid of them, and the number increases as Bowletta takes more damage. She also has control over not only Fawful and her warfare, but all of Bowser's property as well – including his castle, Koopa Clown Car, soldiers, and even the Koopalings.
