User:KamekSans/Projects/List of strong enemy variants
From the Super Mario Wiki, the Mario encyclopedia
Jump to navigationJump to search
Many role-playing video games, especially on older consoles, feature enemies who are simply recolored versions of existing enemies (commonly known as "palette swaps") with similar if not identical attacks and abilities, but stronger stats, in order to pad out enemy rosters without having to dedicate more memory to entirely new enemies. The following is a list of such enemies in role-playing games in the Super Mario series, ordered by chronological appearances of the "base" enemies in role-playing games in release order.
This list excludes bosses (with some exceptions), and "big" or "small" variants are counted as their own enemies.
