User:Arend/Spinning bridge
The spinning bridge[1] is an interactive object that appears in Mario Kart DS, about halfway through the game's iteration of Bowser Castle. It is a metallic, studded cylinder similar to a rolling log and a Turning Floor, rotating perpetually into one direction, though it periodically changes its spinning direction. Drivers will have to cross the spinning bridge in order to complete the race, lest they fall down to the grass and pavement flooring below, losing time as that path is longer.
The spinning bridge is also the central focus of Mission 6-1 of Mario Kart DS, in which players will have to cross it without falling off, while driving backwards as Bowser.
Mario Kart 7 features a similar, wooden object referred to as a paddle wheel in its iteration of Bowser's Castle, which continues to be used in Mario Kart Tour. Much like the spinning bridge, it can be driven over as a shortcut, but also be driven through.
