- —Captain Goomba, Mario Party 8
Coin Areas[1] are spaces in Mario Party 7 and Mario Party 8. They are visible Coin Blocks featured in a few spots of a board in Solo Cruise in Mario Party 7 and Duel Battles in Mario Party 8, with it always being randomized at King Boo's Haunted Hideaway. By passing a Coin Area, the player gets to roll a Dice Block to earn either 5, 10, or 20 coins in Mario Party 7 or 1, 5, or 10 coins in Mario Party 8, depending on the roll. Reaching Captain Goomba with fewer than 50 coins at Goomba's Booty Boardwalk allows the player to roll a coin block as if they passed a Coin Area before Pirate Goombas blast them back to the start.
