Return the hen to her nest is the first story of chapter two in the game Wario Land II. Wario pursues the Black Sugar Gang as they try to reach their pirate ship. During the process, Wario's beloved pet hen is scared away and he has to find her before he can move on. The player starts at the hen's nest and has to pass a grassland-area filled with angry roosters and other enemies. The hen is located at the far right of the level and after Wario picks her up, he has to return to the start while avoiding the enemies. If Wario loses the hen, she will wait a short time before flying away. If she is not picked up again before flying away, the player will have to start over. After the hen is returned, she will lay an egg and the level is cleared.

Hidden Treasure

WL2 T 2-1.png

The hidden treasure of this stage, the winged boot, is located underground. There is a large hill near the end of the level. Left of this hill is a slope that can be used to roll through the rows of bricks. If the player manages to roll through the upper row he will end up in an underground passageway with a Punch and a D.D. He should follow the way until he reaches a door located between some blocks. That is the treasure door.

This treasure might be a reference to the Pegasus Boots from the The Legend of Zelda series, as it's often depicted with wings and (in the Game Boy Color version) is shown with a red tint.
