Variant of Yoshi Bird 1-gō

The Yoshi Bird 5-gō is the fifth vehicle of the Great Bōeigun that appears in the third chapter of Super Mario Bros. 4: Super Mario World 7 of the Super Mario Kodansha manga.

It is a red rocket ship with a "5" painted on the thruster. Like the rest of the Yoshi Bird, it is designed to resemble a Yoshi, but only the eyes are present. This is also the evolution of a previous Yoshi Bird: the first one.

To reach Kame Star, located ad the edge of the universe, Mario orders Yoshi to deploy the Yoshi Bird 5-gō. Yoshi then proceeds to eat the Yoshi Bird 1-gō whole and spit it back out as the Yoshi Bird 5-gō. The Yoshi Bird 5-gō is then used to traverse space. Aside from that, it does not really have any other important function, not even a mechanism to go on the offense. It also lacks a warp mechanism, which Mario resolves by using Super Mario Great's powers to teleport them near the Kame Star.
