Geronimo Yoshi is Yoshi's ancestor from the Far West Era (1850), chief of the Native American Yoshis, who appears in the "Time Traveler" storyline of the Super Mario Kodansha manga. He looks just like Yoshi, with a war bonnet on his head, tribal face painting, and various other trinkets. As his name implies, he is inspired by the historical Apache leader Geronimo.

To save Luigi from a lethal bullet wound, Princess Peach and the Sheriff go in the Arizona Valley to find the Densetsu no Super Kinoko. They find the mushroom in the Yoshi tribe's territory and are captured by them, as they are considered thieves for stealing their already scarce food, a consequence of Bowser taking over the region. Peach pleads for their lives to Geronimo Yoshi, explaining their mission. Recognizing their names, Geronimo Yoshi's sister recognizes them as the heroes who assisted Genshi Yoshi during the Jurassic Era, and they are subsequently released. They then join forces to attacking together Bowser's ranch and freeing the region from his criminal reign, bring back peace and prosperity to their territory.
