Social Climbers is an unlockable 4-Player minigame appearing in Super Mario Party. Its name is a pun on a phrase that refers to people who are eager to gain a higher social status.

Introduction[edit]

The pole is shown, along with a few fireworks. The camera then pans down to show the first player, who waves and then grabs on to the pole. The screen then divides into four, with one for each player.

Gameplay[edit]

In this minigame, the players must continuously climb a pole. The first player to reach the top wins. After all human players reach the top, all remaining CPU players do big climbs until they reach the top.

On the Challenge Road, this is the fifth challenge of Shell Street and the fifth challenge overall. The goal is to reach the top in 25 seconds for the normal challenge and 20 seconds for the Master Challenge.

Upon winning the minigame, most characters do a handstand on top of the pole. If Peach, Daisy, or Rosalina wins, she will sit on the pole instead. Due to lacking arms, Goomba instead balances on its head.

Ending[edit]

The screen shows only the player that made it to the top first. They still do their pose. Fireworks explode in the air, and balloons fly up to the sky.

Controls[edit]

  • Joy-Con + L Button/R Button – Climb

In-game text[edit]

  • Climb to the top!
  • Swing Joy-Con (L) down while pressing L Button/R Button and then release while swinging Joy-Con (L) back up, until you reach the top!
