Overview[edit]

Like with other Donkey Kong boss levels, Donkey Kong has four lives and the amount of lives the player has is dependent on how many Mini-Marios were collected in the previous level. If the player selects this stage from the level select screen, they will begin with four lives.

Donkey Kong has three Polterguys that fly around him, and depending on what Color Switch is pressed, that color of Polterguy will be able to be picked up by the player. The Polterguys bounce back and forth across the stage. To attack Donkey Kong, the player needs to carry a solid Polterguy up the platforms and throw it at Donkey Kong. The more damage Donkey Kong has taken, the faster he will press the Color Switches and the more aggressive the Polterguys will become. After attacking Donkey Kong four times, he will leave and the player will enter Mystic Forest (Slippery Summit in the Nintendo Switch remake).
