Submarathon is a 2-vs.-2 minigame found in Mario Party 5. The name is a portmanteau of the words "submarine" and "marathon." This is the only minigame in Mario Party 5 in which the song "In Calm Water" plays; said song is a cover version of the Underwater Theme from Super Mario Bros.
Introduction[edit]
The minigame starts with a clam onscreen. It then spits out the red team members in their Cheep Cheep submarine. The screen then splits, showing both teams.
Gameplay[edit]
The minigame consists of two teams of two players, who must race to the finish by riding Cheep Cheep-shaped submarines, one red and the other blue.
