It is the second officially licensed slot machine from the Mario and Mario Kart series. The machine art is based on various key arts from Mario Kart 64, and contains several sounds and music from the game. Some of the machines have settings for 5-pence and 10-pence play.[2]

Selecting from Mario, Donkey Kong, or Yoshi, the player must compete with the other two. The objective of the game is to race around the track to get the Super Jackpot bonus in the track's center, using powerups along the way and collecting cash from the reels, the three central prize trails, or the six character-based special features.[3] Mario, Yoshi, and Donkey Kong are the key racers.
