Beach Volleyball is a Bonus minigame in Mario Party 5. Mamar hosts the minigame and describes it as "Bump, set... Bob-omb!" It is heavily based on Beach Volley Folly from Mario Party 4, going as far as featuring the same setting (though the Kinopio Burger sign has been changed to "Kinopio Cafe").

Gameplay[edit]

The game pits two teams of two against each other in a beach volleyball match. There are different types of volleyballs for the players to use:

  • Normal Ball – This is an ordinary volleyball with no gimmicks.
  • Bob-omb Ball – Every hit, including serves, makes the digit on the ball count down from 10. When zero is shown, the ball explodes before the team can hit it, and the opposing team gains a point.
  • Dice Ball – The number on the ball shuffles between one and six. The number shown on the ball when it hits the sand is the number of points awarded to the scoring team.

The game ends once one side accrues 10 to 20 points, depending on the players' settings, and the first team to do so wins.

Controls[edit]

  • Control Stick – Move
  • A Button – Hit the ball / Dive
  • B ButtonJump
  • B Button A Button – Spike
