Super Mario Bros. Deluxe is a remake of the Nintendo game Super Mario Bros. on the Game Boy Color. The game recieved critical acclaim for a number of things, such as bringing back the original Super Mario Bros. for a whole younger generation to play the classic, the Boo challenges, and including the Lost Levels .

Game Modes

Single Player

  • Original 1985: The original super Mario Bros. game.
  • Challenge: Allows the player to play levels again and complete extra challenges, such as collecting Red Coins and Yoshi Eggs.
  • Super Mario Bros. For Super Players: When collecting a total of 300,000 points, the player can play Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (called Super Mario Bros. For Super Players in this game), but it is actually a modification of Super Mario Bros. rather than a port of Lost Levels. Thus, the physics and graphics are the same and the level design is altered somewhat to accomodate Mario's physics.
  • You VS. Boo: When collecting 100,000 points, the player will be awarded a mode where the player gets to race Boo to the end of any level. Similar to VS. Mode.

Multiplayer

  • VS. Mode: Using a Game Boy link cable, two players can race to the end of a level. Similar to You VS. Boo.
  • High Scores: Allows players to trade their High Score records.

Misc.

  • Toy Box: Various goodies for the Player to enjoy, such as a Fortune Teller, Game Boy Printer printouts, and a calender.
  • Album: Images the player has earned by meeting certain objectives in the game.

Differences Between Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. Deluxe

  • The player can save the game at any time.
  • A world map has been added.
  • The player can play as Luigi at any time.
  • Water and Lava are now animated.
  • Luigi, Toad, and Peach have new animations.
  • Luigi's palette has been changed.
  • All the glitches have been fixed, including the Minus World and Small Fire Mario.
