Thank you for the change in the non-playable characters section of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games (Wii). About Pink Birdo

Hi, I'm about to publish every Team Birdo Pictures from Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games's Games, where Pink Birdo appear with Blue Birdo and others Colours, would you erase all content that Pink Birdo appear as a members of her species? This is very frustrating to takes hours to made somethings that one person can erase it in 5min. I don't saying you are wrong to doing this, but can you just advise me before changing things??? Shouldn't we disable the option for IPs to edit?

Many IPs have been straight-up vandals. They change PNG and JPG images to weird names (e.g. [[File:Mario.png]] to [[File:Mari.png]]), add content containing bad words, and even just changing pages in general! Is there an option to require all contributors to log in like Bulbapedia and formerly WiKirby? That would add an extra layer of defense to our wiki.

Board Bowser's Sub

Here you undid my revision, saying "The first star of the game?" No, Big Bob-omb on the Summit can be substituted for Behind Chain Chomp's gate or Find the 8 Red Coins (IDK if the latter is possible thiugh because of the cannon, same with Shoot to the Island in the Sky). However, Board Bowser's Sub must be required to. unlock BitFS, which is required to unlock BitS, to beat the game.

PORPLE IS BEING ATTACKED!

I searched up Porplemontage's name on Google and this came out:

"Porplemontage, also known as Steve, is the evil creator of the Super MarioWiki. The reason why he created the place is because that he wants to deliver false info of the Mario Series so he could (somehow) take over The Known Galaxy. Currently, the plan is failing. However, the Mario Wiki community is growing slowly. Thankfully, the MarioWiki Terrorists are here to save the day, although they always get banned in the end. Other than all of this, he is one of Bill Cosby's greatest foes, as Bill is the true creator of UnMarioWiki! Well, we only said that if you didn't know if he is...

AND THE GUY YOU PLAY AS IN MINECRAFT"

We have to do something! Report it! RESPECT OUR LEADER! OctolingRendezvous.png Octoling Rendezvous 02:00, May 18, 2020 (EDT)

Why???

As shown here, everyone else wants me to add an infobox. I was adding them until you reverted them! I am adding a new revision with different descriptions but why do you have to revert them when everyone else agrees? That is my second favorite Mario game, outside of SMO!

And what is wrong with Story Mode? Isn't it a main mode?

BTW don't re-comment on my message wall and please just comment here instead.

OctolingRendezvous.png Octoling Rendezvous 07:45, May 18, 2020 (EDT)

I never said adding a table is wrong. I said what you're doing with it is wrong: copying/pasting the information from the previous NSMB games' articles. Start the descriptions from scratch based on what you've played of the game, and why not add something that would distinguish it from the others (like a first level appearance column)? the You even have plenty of time before the deadline. Being a favourite game isn't why an article gets featured.
And I've already explained why the "Story Mode" section is inaccurate: There are parts that still apply to outside of Story Mode, like Controls, and parts that don't apply to Story Mode ("Extra modes"), so having them under "Story Mode" doesn't make sense. Please read the summaries more carefully. This layout is fine as it is and isn't a reason why it shouldn't be featured.
Commenting on your talk page is the only way for you to be notified. Lucina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 07:56, May 18, 2020 (EDT)

Sorry

Hello Mario jc.

I have came here to apologize for my past mistake: Forgetting italics, edit warring, giving undeserved warnings, and conflict with Mario Sakuraba, Doc von Schmeltwick, and a few admins (including TheFlameChomp, Alex95, and you). My last mistake was adding a {{conjecture}} to a page. I thought that in LM3, every room had no name (like the SMG planets). Do you think I deserve a last warning or even a block?

Also, if your nomination for a featured article fails, can you try again?

OctolingRendezvous.png Octoling Rendezvous 09:21, June 3, 2020 (EDT)

Don't exaggerate. You don't get a warning or block for making a first-time mistake in good faith like thinking a name was conjectural. It's not an obvious or repeated breach of the rules or anything.
There doesn't seem to be a cooldown period for FAs, but you're likely going to get the same results if you nominate it again immediately after. Take time to improve the page as others have suggested, then you can nominate it again. Lucina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 21:58, June 3, 2020 (EDT)

Hello Mario jc,

Thanks for the warning, Please forgive me for my grammar. I will try to be more careful about my Grammar and words to use so that the paragraph or sentence will not be too long. I am working very hard to give true Facts about Mario Kart, but my grammar is the one who is giving false information. Please forgive me, I will check my grammar every time that I edit a page. I'm also sorry to the people that is correcting my grammar.

Block me

I came to this wiki to be promoted. But with a Last Warning, I cannot. Plus, you gave me that last warning after Alex95 game me an informal reminder. I didn't war ever since he said that. And what did you do? You gaave me a. Last Warning. I am so mad at Keyblade Master that I want to tell him this:

"If you didn't join this wiki, Porple would've given me bureaucrat rights by now! But instead... Instead... I'VE LOST EVERYTHING! BECAUSE OF YOU!

Now there is a 0% chance of getting me promoted. Please block me. Forever. No is not an option. I will vandalize pages if I must as a way of getting blocked if you will not now. OctolingRendezvous.png Octoling Rendezvous 02:34, June 21, 2020 (EDT)

I thought I was fixing a grammar issue. Such a hard sentence to fix. Sorry.--TheGreenBeetle (talk) 16:26, June 23, 2020 (EDT)

Why I do this

I believe that some users have bad faith and are reverting my good edits on purpose just so that you guys can give me warnings. That is why I revert edits unless an extremely good edit summary is added. I conflict with Keyblade and Doc because I think that they have bad faith. If an admin undoes it, however, I know that good faith is in them. The last warning I got is too harsh. Maybe reduce it to another regular warning? I am in hot enemy ink.

BTW warnings should expire, as a permanent {{lastwarn}} will block me with even a level one offense. Also, admin warnings should be able to appeal.

Screwtop Shroom

Hi, I have a question regarding naming policy again. Apparently the unnamed "Screwtop Shrooms" in New Super Mario Bros. Wii and New Super Mario Bros. U have the name "Neji-shiki Kinoko" in the Shogakukan guide. Is that a suitable name, or should the translation of the name (the article's current title) be used instead? Toadette icon CTTT.pngFont of Archivist Toadette's signature(T|C) 10:43, July 1, 2020 (EDT)

Alternately, I think the internal "Spin Kinoko Lift" is a more usable name since it is common to both games and there is some more English in it (not entirely, but since "Kinoko" is already present in many other articles, I think readers will be able to easily deduce that kinoko means mushroom). LinkTheLefty (talk) 12:18, July 1, 2020 (EDT)

Casing and identifiers

Regarding shared titles - do articles like the New Super Mario Bros. U goal ring and arrow lift use identifiers if they are lowercase and thus techincally not identical to Goal Ring and Arrow Lift? LinkTheLefty (talk) 12:18, July 1, 2020 (EDT)

Nintendo Power priority

Actually, that rule only applies to Prima guides pre-Super Mario Galaxy; since Super Paper Mario is the last game properly covered by Nintendo Power, the more recent New Super Mario Bros. U Prima name would be a more appropriate title than the older Yoshi's Island Player's Guide. LinkTheLefty (talk) 14:25, July 15, 2020 (EDT)

Note that source priority mainly changes between different formats, however; I don't want to emphasize policy, but it has a few choice phrases that make strategy guides different from that example:

2. Name from a Nintendo Player's Guide – A name from a Nintendo Player's Guide (also commonly known as a Nintendo Power guidebook) is an acceptable alternative. For games released after 2007, this source can no longer be used since this source is currently discontinued. Super Paper Mario is the last game in the Mario series to be covered by Nintendo Power.
3. Name from a pre-Super Mario Galaxy Prima Games Strategy Guide or any other third-party guide – A name from an officially-licensed Prima Games Strategy Guide (when they were published concurrently with Nintendo Power) is also an acceptable alternative, though in case of contradictions, the Nintendo Power name takes priority. This also applies to other official third-party guides by companies such as Bradygames. For Japanese names, guides published by Shogakukan (Nintendo's official guidebook licensee) take priority over other publications.

Perhaps it can be reworded to be a little less confusing, but the way I interpret it, the bold (especially for third tier) would only make sense if, albeit implicitly, post-2007 Prima Games Strategy Guides are second tier. In fact, I know I'm not the only one who sees it that way, since the wiki already upholds several article titles such as Super Note Block and Big Deep Cheep with this logic. LinkTheLefty (talk) 10:33, July 16, 2020 (EDT)

Should we add a warning spoilers template for latest Mario game releases?

So we do know that when a new game is announced, a new page is created with some information, and more is added when more of the game is revealed until full release. If there is some people on this wiki looking about the game and have not played it before (Paper Mario: The Origami King for example), there should be a warning template about spoilers if they have not played it before, and the section of the story is hidden until they select "continue" and thus opening the story. And maybe discuss about removing the spoiler after about one or two months after release. Think this is a good idea? MarioGamerFan24 (talk) 15:51, July 16, 2020 (EDT)

I think there was a proposal before to stop doing this, and I once tried to propose holding back on spoilers until a game was out (not adding information only revealed from leaks or anything unofficial such as Prosafiagaming), which didn't pass. It's why I haven't been contributing to anything related to Paper Mario: The Origami King. I still wish spoilers would at least be cooled for new games. Bowser Nightwicked Bowser Bowser emblem from Mario Kart 8

We added a new policy page if you'd like to read it. Lucina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 23:10, July 17, 2020 (EDT)

Mmm, this makes sense now, so then we should be able to avoid stories of latest releases at all costs while playing to not lose our interest. But people these days out there might just spoil the game elsewhere on the internet which it may all happen to us before, but as long we avoid it, everything should be fine. Toad Captain

Hi, so I was thinking of a more suitable conjectural name for this article. Would "Violet Isles captain" work? The reason I ask is because another Toad captain also travels the Violet Isles, and the current name doesn't work at all since the legendary captain is himself a sea captain. Quotes vs. no quotes in song titles

I've noticed that the titles you've used for songs in Paper Mario: The Origami King are without quotes (such as Happy & Sappy), though the majority of the game's song articles are with quotes (such as "Thrills at Night"), given that they're also key items whose titles use quotes. Said user has now provided us with a PAL copy of the manual, and it seems there are some differences between the NA and PAL manuals that are not just direct unit conversions (for example, changing the eyesight from 20/70 in the NA version to 20/40 in the PAL version). We'll look into the differences and note both versions. Hooded Pitohui (talk) 14:34, August 18, 2020 (EDT)

There have been a few times where I removed things from talk pages assuming it was forum talk, and it was put back by you or someone else saying it was valid enough to stay on the talk pages. So I need you to clarify this for me to make sure I don't keep doing this, if someone posts a question relating to the subject on the talk page about their appearance (e.g. "when does this appear in the game") can that sort of thing stay on the talk page? You said in your edit summary the answer could be put in the article. I understand, but I had actually just finished de-captain goomba-ing the page like, a minute later. It should be obvious I have inhibitions using a 3ds, I get maybe tops a minute before it forces a reload, I have to move quick, save a lot, and watch the clock. Without 5 minutes leisure time (lack of better terminology), I can't do a thing. It's all been lost many times before. Copy-Paste has a highly limited character usage,(somewhere around a single paragraph) so doing the whole article in one copy is entirely out of the question. No, I do not have ANY other available device.

Could you think it over, look through all my records, and find A SINGLE EDIT that lasted for even an hour? (Userspace doesn't count) Ones I'm particularly proud of... And, in this example HAVEN'T EVEN FINISHED YET.
I find no reason to stick around. I can't make any edit for one reason to the next. It's not about discouragement (while it plays a role to be sure) But even logic dictates, if you know the outcome, if you know it's a waste of time, don't do it.
