Special Items (also called Key Items) are items used in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Most Special Items are optional; only a few are required to complete the game.

Alto Card
Play "Frogfucius' suite #18" in Tadpole Pond by playing notes on the small Tadpoles and talk to Toadofsky. Allows access to buy merchandise at the Juice Bar.
BBomb.png
Bambino Bomb
Defeat Croco for the second time in Coal Mines. Give it to a Mole in the Coal Mines to gain access to the next area.

Beetle Box
Buy from Beetles Are Us in Seaside Town Allows Mario to store and sell beetles.

Big Boo Flag
After sleeping in the Three Musty Fears' bed, find it on Yo'ster Isle between the O and A in GOAL. Find this along with the Dry Bones' Flag and the Greaper's Flag to obtain the Ghost Medal.

Castle Key 1
Talk to a Nimbus in Nimbus Castle. Use this to unlock the door to Birdo's room.

Defeat Birdo in Nimbus Castle. Use this to unlock the door behind Birdo.

Cricket Jam
Find in Kero Sewers through a special entrance via Land's End. Give this to Frogfucius to gain 10 Frog Coins.

Cricket Pie
Retrieve the Rare Frog Coin from Croco and exchange at the Mushroom Kingdom's shop. Give this to Frogfucius to obtain the Froggie Stick.

Dry Bones' Flag
After sleeping in the Three Musty Fears' bed, find it under Mario's bed in the Pipe House. Find this along with the Big Boo's Flag and the Greaper's Flag to obtain the Ghost Medal.

Elder Key
Find in Booster Tower after arranging the portraits of Booster's ancestors. Use this to open a door leading to the Chomp.
Fertilizer Talk to a Shy Away in a hidden area of Nimbus Land (it can be found by hugging the main area's eastern border). Give this, along with the Seed to the Gardener in Rose Town, so that he can grow a beanstalk leading to the Lazy Shells.

Greaper Flag
After sleeping in the Three Musty Fears' bed, find it behind Rose Town's introductory sign. Find this along with the Big Boo's Flag and the Dry Bones' Flag to obtain the Ghost Medal.
Frog Coin.png
Rare Frog Coin
Defeat Croco in Bandit's Way for the first time. Present it to the Mushroom Kingdom's shop owner and receive the Cricket Pie.
Seed Defeat Smilax in Bean Valley. Give this, along with the Fertilizer to the Gardener in Rose Town, so that he can grow a beanstalk leading to the Lazy Shells.

Room Key
Find in Booster Tower in a room full of Fireballs. Unlocks the door leading to the Zoom Shoes.

Shed Key
Defeat Yaridovich in Seaside Town. Use this to free the citizens of Seaside Town.

Soprano Card
Play "Monstro Town song" in Tadpole Pond by playing notes on the small Tadpoles and talk to Toadofsky. Note: Mario must first obtain the Tenor Card. Allows Mario to buy the Kerokero Cola and further lowers other prices at the Juice Bar.

Temple Key
Talk to the Thwomp in Monstro Town 7 times, and this will fall down from the roof it's on. Use to access a treasure room within Belome Temple.

Tenor Card
Play "Moleville blues" in Tadpole Pond by playing notes on the small Tadpoles and talk to Toadofsky. Note: Mario must first obtain the Alto Card. Allows Mario to buy the Megalixir and lowers other prices at the Juice Bar.
