Title card

"Mélanie et les gorilles" is a skit that aired as part of Donkey Kong Planet. It is framed as an episode of a long-running and poorly written television series. It is a parody of the French sitcom Hélène et les Garçons.

Summary[edit]

The skit starts off with a narrator stating that this is the 632nd episode of a fiction television series called "Mélanie and the gorillas." Mélanie is sitting in a cafeteria called La Cafet, with the strawberry syrup she ordered arriving shortly after. Candy Kong then appears and sits near Mélanie, and after the two greet each other, they start to gossip. The two talk about how a person named "Jean-Luc" who used to date "Corine" is now dating "Catherine," a person who used to date "Thierry," a person who used to date "Aurélie," a person who used to date "Jean-Pierre," a person who used to date "Hélène." Candy then says that it feels like she is hallucinating and is similar to how, in Donkey Kong Planet, "Betty" used to date "Zorvoy," who is now dating "Wilky," a person who used to date "Gambit," a person who used to date "Malky." The two of them are shocked at this, but when a member of the filming crew shouts "Cut!," Mélanie asks if Candy knows who writes the "stupid dialogue in this stupid series," with Candy responding that there are two people writing the script of the series: one who is not so bad, and another who wears small, round glasses. Mélanie then states that they still have 500 more episodes of Mélanie et les gorilles to film. When the filming resumes, the two complain that a person that they were waiting to show up is ten minutes late, then Mélanie remarks that the man behind her is cute.
