"Funky Jumper" is a skit that aired as part of Donkey Kong Planet. This skit was part of the "Sport Kong" series. It is framed as a sports interview.
Summary[edit]
Diddy Kong, who portrays a sports presenter, starts the skit by introducing the viewers, and telling them how it is "rare to witness the birth of a new Olympic discipline." Diddy then introduces the viewers to Funky Jumper, the sole practitioner of a sport he had just invented. Funky speaks into Diddy's microphone, saying that he thinks the competition will be tough, but he thinks he may be able to win. Diddy then asks Funky what his discipline mostly consists of; Funky then shows Diddy by running back and jumping the width of a long jump runway. Diddy then asks Funky what he has named his new sport, to which Funky replies: "Can't you tell? Wide jump!" (as a nod to long jump). Diddy then criticizes Funky, telling him that even a grandmother can do what he just accomplished, but Funky responds by telling Diddy that the "main thing is to participate." Diddy then concludes the skit, telling the viewers he will see them next week on a show entirely dedicated to pea throw (lancer du petit pois, pun on lancer du poids which means "shot put").
