World 2-2 is the second level of World 2 in New Super Mario Bros. 2. It is a level high in the sky, littered with gold-colored platforms. This level marks the introduction of Hammer Bros.
Layout[edit]
This aerial level takes place on totem poles that have wing-like structures, acting as platforms throughout the level. Mario starts in between two ? Blocks, the latter containing a Fire Flower. On the far left of the player, they can find a block with a 1-Up Mushroom. This is followed by a Paragoomba and several Brick Blocks, which the latter is a lone Brick Block that can be turned into a Gold Block. Red Koopa Troopas follow. A Gold Ring appears in between two ? Blocks on the ground under a Koopa which allows Mario to earn extra coins with the Koopa. A Hammer Bro can then be found. - Star Coin 2: On the platform right after the platform with the Red Ring, Mario can find a gap between the two smaller platforms. Dropping down leads to a yellow Warp Pipe, taking the player to an area with two Boomerang Bros. and the Star Coin, along with several coins.
- Star Coin 3: In the last part, when Mario encounters the Sledge Bro, he should go towards the left and jump the gap to a smaller platform. He meets a Paragoomba, which Mario has to jump on to reach the Star Coin.
