Social Climbers is a 4-Player minigame appearing in Super Mario Party. Its name is a pun on a phrase that refers to people who are eager to gain a higher social status.
Introduction
The pole is shown, along with a few fireworks. The camera then pans down to show the first player. They wave, and then grab on to the pole. The screen then divides into four, with one for each player.
Gameplay
In this minigame, the players must continuously climb a pole. The first player to reach the top wins. After all human player(s) reach the top, all remaining CPU players will do big climbs until they reach the top.
On the Challenge Road, this is the fifth challenge of Shell Street and the fifth challenge overall. The goal is to reach the top in 25 seconds for the normal challenge and 20 seconds for the Master Challenge.
Upon winning the minigame, most characters do a handstand on top of the pole. If Peach, Daisy, or Rosalina wins, she sits on the pole instead. Lacking arms, Goomba balances on his head.
Ending
The screen will only show the player that made it to the top first. They still do their pose. Fireworks explode in the air, and balloons fly up to the sky.
